TODAY’s Mold Logic: Science is always true whether you believe it or not.
ERMI is not valid.
Do NOT use ERMI - or HERTSMI.
You will rarely "need" environmental samples. 95% of my building assessments for mold "patients" needed ZERO samples for me to find and solve the water damage and mold growth problem.
There is a HUGE difference between Mold GROWTH and Mold DUST. Make sure you know what “they” mean when “they” say, “you’ve got mold”. Is it just some spores in the settled dirt and dust? Or is it actual growth from a water problem?
Bleach does NOT make mold angry. In fact, it is an average mildewcide, like ALL other products and ingredients that are labelled "disinfectant". ALL disinfectants kill some mold - NO disinfectant will kill ALL mold. Use chemicals for very defined purpose. Do NOT rely on “special” marketing and labels to deal with mold in a building. You’ll pay for the marketing and high profit margin… and not get any extra special result.
We do NOT kill mold. We remove the growth. Either by cleaning or cutting it out.
We do NOT use disinfectants as part of the remediation process.
The best way to kill mold, if you really need to, is “no water”. Dry it out. Let it starve. It will work with 100% of all molds and mold spores. No water - No growth.
There is NO literature (research, studies, plausible science) that explains the settled, invisible fraction of mold particles is an actual cause of the mold illness - as compare to the active growth in the same space.
Very few people understand what a mycotoxin really is - and how it behaves both chemically and physically.
Mycotoxins are NOT VOCs. They do not behave like gas. They do NOT go thru drywall!
Labs selling you ERMI are NOT giving you the correct instructions on collection - hence, making it not valid (this is just one reason why not to use it).
Labs selling you mycotoxin in urine analysis do NOT use a standardized method used by the other labs. Their method has not been validated by ANY third party not interested in the profit of the method.
Mycotoxin in urine concentrations have no valid comparison - so when a "practitioner" tells you yours is "elevated", ask them how they know this.
There is no literature supporting the concept (it's NOT a "theory") that mycotoxins in urine "could be" from an exposure many years ago.
The use of detox "food supplements" (aka diet) is pure speculation with questionable plausibility.
The use of standard oral detox compounds to rapidly remove poisons from the stomach and intestine (carbon, charcoal, spirulina, clay) will not pull toxins stored in other tissues. Just from the space inside the intestine - ie., from the bolus. This is just one reason why so few people respond rapidly, much less positively, to the use of common oral detox compounds.
Mold does cause symptoms of many sorts, but causes few well-defined illnesses.
Mold in a building is rarely the singular cause of a singular illness - for example, mold infection (e.g., Aspergillosis) has never been shown to be caused by living in a water damaged building or a building that has actual mold growth. This is because that infection is the result of an opportunistic organism that will grow due to unique factors in that person’s body - such as compromised immune system. The source of the mold spore is “anywhere”.
Mold living in a building is very likely to cause someone some health effect at some time. We just don’t know who, what or when.
Hey Scott. I’m really loving your work here. I’ll get all our national team to sign up and follow.
For point 8. The best way to kill mold, if you really need to, is “no water”. Dry it out. Let it starve. It will work with 100% of all molds and mold spores. No water - No growth. If there’s insufficient moisture, I understand some of the spores may become non-viable so in a way it does “kill” some of the mould. My understanding is that regardless of insufficient moisture, some of the spores will remain viable so therefore not killed or dead. Or is the reference here to killing off the growth only?
Hi - thank you for all the information. Referring to #17 - The use of standard oral detox compounds to rapidly remove poisons from the stomach and intestine (carbon, charcoal, spirulina, clay) will not pull toxins stored in other tissues. Just from the space inside the intestine - ie., from the bolus. This is just one reason why so few people respond rapidly, much less positively, to the use of common oral detox compounds. How does one heal from CIRS or mold exposure if these don't pull from the tissues?
